Giants ground Eagles 15-7, earn second win

Behind five field goals from placekicker Josh Brown, the New York Giants downed the Philadelphia Eagles in the City of Brotherly Love on Sunday.

Another week, another win for the New York Giants who stymied Chip Kelly's high-powered offensive attack in Week 8. New York's offense was far from extraordinary, but quarterback Eli Manning didn't commit a turnover for the second straight game and Big Blue's defense dominated on Sunday.

After starter Michael Vick left the game in the first half with a hamstring injury, rookie Matt Barkley looked like, well, a rookie. The Giants brought Barkley down for 4 sacks and safety Will Hill hauled in an interception on the Eagles final offensive possession of the game to seal the victory.

Placekicker Josh Brown connected on all five of his field goal attempts. Much like last week against the Minnesota Vikings, a special teams gaffe would produce Philadelphia's only score of the game as long snapper Zak DeOssie launched the ball over punter Steve Weatherford's head and the Eagles' Najee Goode scooped up the football and found the end zone.

The Giants held Philadelphia to just 200 yards of total offense after surrendering 439 yards in their Week 5 loss to the Eagles.

Big Blue heads into its bye week with some momentum after compiling consecutive victories following its 0-6 start. Tom Coughlin and company will make the most of their extra rest before preparing to face the Oakland Raiders in Week 10.
