Patriots Offer Hernandez Jersey Trade In
Hernandez is being held without bail in the Bristol county jail on murder and weapons charges in the homicide of Odin Lloyd. The team released Hernandez less than two hours after his arrest.
The Patriots offer is for fans who bought a #81 Hernandez jersey at the Patriots Pro Shop or online at the team's Pro Shop. Fans may exchange their Hernandez jersey for a new jersey of any other player as long as it's of comparable value.
"We know that children love wearing their Patriots jerseys, but may not understand why parents don't want them wearing their Hernandez jerseys anymore," said New England Patriots spokesperson Stacey James. "We hope this opportunity to exchange those jerseys at the Patriots ProShop for another player's jersey will be well received by parents."
The offer is valid the weekend of July 6-7 and must be made at the Patriots ProShop at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
