Falcons try out Marlin Jackson

The Atlanta Falcons worked out veteran cornerback-safety Marlin Jackson and cornerback Syd'Quan Thompson, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation. Jackson is a former Indianapolis Colts starter and first-round draft pick. The former Michigan standout last played for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jackson was cut by Philadelphia last year two years into a $6 million contract and one year after rupturing his right Achilles tendon.

Thompson is a former Denver Broncos seventh-round draft pick from Cal.

He has recorded 10 tackles and two interceptions with four pass deflections.
