Day After Eagles Injury Report

During Andy Reid's day after press conference, news about some injured players may be a concern entering this Sunday's game against Detroit. Will Brian Westbrook and Brian Dawkins be available this weekend?

The day after for the Eagles looks as ugly as last night’s loss to the Washington Redskins. When Andy Reid held his day after news conference, the news of Brian Dawkins and Brian Westbrook being on the injury report added to the dismal feeling in Philadelphia today.

Reid said that Dawkins would undergo an MRI today to determine the extent of his neck stinger. However, Reid stated, "He'll be alright as the week goes on here." Dawkins hurt his neck in the fourth quarter after hitting Redskins backup tight end Todd Yoder.

Westbrook’s injury is a bit curious. He’s had issues with his knee for the last couple of seasons, and in last night’s game he suffered a knee strain. Reid said, “He twisted his knee a little bit.” That quote doesn’t tell you much about the extent of the injury, but it’s always a concern when Westbrook is on the injury report. I’m sure he’ll sit out of practice the entire week and rest up for this Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.

Also mentioned on today’s injury report were L.J. Smith (groin strain), William Thomas (lower back spasms), and Sean Considine (knee contusion).

During today’s press conference, Reid was asked a question regarding Donovan McNabb. The question was, “If Donovan doesn’t get the job done, how soon until you make a change at the position?” Reid responded, “He’ll get it done.”
