Scout Radio: Omar Gaither

After the Eagles wrapped up their first preseason game and broke camp, Scout.com's Ed Thompson talked to Eagles linebacker Omar Gaither about his experiences over the past few weeks and about the Eagles' upcoming matchup against the Panthers. Check out what he had to say in this exclusive interview.

Linebacker Omar Gaither found this year's training camp to be a bit easier on a few fronts compared to last year when he reported as an Eagles rookie.

"This year I went into it knowing what to expect, and that changes everything for you," he said during his Scout Radio interview this week. "As a player, once you've been through a camp, you know better how to prepare your body off the field to get ready for camp.  And you don't have to worry as much about your mind being bogged down with new information because you've been in the defense for over a year."

That said, Gaither made it clear that while he was better prepared for the experience, it doesn't change the fact that the annual event in the summer heat is still challenging -- even for a professional athlete.

"It was a little less stressful, but camp's tough whether you're a first, second or tenth-year guy," he said.  "But it was good for us and I think our team bonded well."

Scout.com subscribers can listen to this 5-minute interview with Omar Gaither where he talks about his camp experience, last Monday's night's game against the Ravens and his upcoming matchup against the Panthers on Friday night. And you'll even hear him talk about the rookie on the Eagles offense that got his attention the most during camp and his thoughts on fellow linebacker Chris Gocong:
