The Eagles spent a lot of the off-season shopping Hollis Thomas and finally pulled the trigger on a deal Sunday. The move up in the fourth round allowed the Eagles to draft Georgia guard Max Jean-Gilles with the 99th overall pick.
"I'm relieved. It's a great organization. I loved it when I went up there (to visit the Eagles). I had a positive feeling about the coaches. I am a perfect fit for them," said Jean-Gilles.
Jean-Gilles (6-4, 340) played at both tackle and guard at Georgia, but seems best suited to play at guard in the pros.
After picking Jean-Gilles in the fourth round, the Eagles grabbed wide receiver Jason Avant (Michigan) with the 109th pick, wide receiver Jeremy Bloom (Colorado) and linebacker Omar Gaither (Tennessee) in the fifth round. In the sixth round, the Eagles took DT La Juan Ramsey (USC).
