Early Notes, Eagles-Steelers

Some early morning notes on tonight's preseason opening of The Linc

-As is custom with the third preseason game, the starters are expected to play into the third quarter.

-Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper are both expected to play tonight. The only inactive receiver seems to be Josh Huff, still recovering from the sprained shoulder sustained six nights ago.

-The four primary corners appear to be active, including Nolan Carroll, who would be making his debut with the Eagles.

-No word on if rookie kicker Cody Parkey will see time in tonight's game, following Wednesday's trade. Dave Spadaro speculates he'll get a lengthy evaluation during tonight's warmups.

-Mike Kaye of Bleeding Green Nation had an interesting conversation with linebacker Najee Goode, where Goode believes he'll be a starting linebacker 'in the near future'. While there's been reports that the Eagles want to less DeMeco Ryans' load, it's unlikely that these two items are connected.

-No official word on whether or not Le'Veon Bell and/or LeGarrette Blount will sit tonight's game, following their arrest Wednesday afternoon. The running backs, along with an unidentified woman, were charged with possessing 20 grams of marijuana, and Bell was also charged with marijuana-related DUI. Blount traveled with the Steelers to Philadelphia, while Bell paid his own way to the city.
