Bears trade for TE Dante Rosario

The Chicago Bears have sent a seventh-round pick to Dallas for tight end Dante Rosario.

According to Todd Archer, who covers the Dallas Cowboys for ESPN.com, the Chicago Bears have traded a conditional seventh-round pick in 2014 to the Cowboys for tight end Dante Rosario.

Rosario (6-4, 250) is a six-year veteran who signed with Dallas on June 3. He's a former fifth-round pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2007. His best seasons came in 2009 (26 receptions, 313 yards, 2 TDs) and 2010 (32 receptions, 264 yards). For his career, he has 99 catches for 1,106 yards. In 14 games for the Chargers last year, he totaled 10 catches for 95 yards.

The Bears were in the market for a tight end after Fendi Onobun fizzled out in the preseason. In order to make room for Rosario on the roster, the team has waived TE Kyle Adams.

In a separate move, the Bears signed Jamaal Johnson-Webb to the practice squad. Johnson-Webb entered the NFL this season with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Alabama A&M. The 6-6, 306-pound Johnson-Webb started 45 games over four seasons for the Bulldogs, earning All-SWAC first-team honors as a senior while being named to Phil Steele's FCS second-team All-American squad.
